Pergola on The Roof was a special pop-up involving the set-up of 3-4 restaurants on a roof above the old BBC building in White City, West London, open throughout the summer of 2016. Over 14 weeks, 72,000 visitors turned up to eat or drink, 46,000 of which pre-booked tables, and 26,000 walked in or queued. It was the go-to space in the area, especially on a sunny day. Run by Incipio Events, the company responsible for the successful Feast and Little Feast street food festivals, as well as Market Yard pop-up restaurants, I brought on (and endorsed) three well-known restaurants to be part of the project: Salt Yard (Spanish-British tapas); Rabbit (British foraged food); Le Coq (rotisserie chicken).
